Kevin Gets Smokey

Kevin, the little bartending dog, loved nothing more than creating new and exciting cocktails for his drink catering company, Amaro PDX. But he also knew that in order to keep growing, he needed to continue his education and learn more about the different types of spirits he used in his drinks.

One day, Kevin decided to focus his attention on mezcal. He had always been fascinated by this unique spirit, made from the agave plant, and wanted to learn more about the process of making it.

So, he packed his bags and set off to Mexico, where he spent weeks exploring the countryside and meeting with mezcal producers. He learned all about the different types of agave plants and how they were harvested, and watched as the piñas, or hearts of the agave, were roasted in underground pits to create the smoky flavor that mezcal is known for.

He also learned about the different ways in which mezcal is distilled and the varying flavors and nuances that result from each method. From copper pot stills to clay pots buried in the ground, Kevin saw it all.

Finally, after weeks of learning and exploring, Kevin returned to Portland, armed with a newfound knowledge of mezcal and a renewed passion for creating delicious and unique cocktails. He couldn't wait to incorporate his new knowledge into his catering company, Amaro PDX, and share the delicious taste of mezcal with all of his customers.
